The Kappa Detroit Foundation

 

The Kappa Detroit Foundation was our charity partner for the 2018 Detroit Kentucky Derby. We welcome the opportunity to work with these brothers again to help our youth.


The Kappa Detroit Foundation at www.kappadetroitfoundation.org is the 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt charitable foundation created by the Detroit Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

The Foundation strives to help produce a better quality life for all through education, redevelopment and training.


A portion of the proceeds from Detroit Kentucky Derby ticket sales will go to the Kappa Detroit Foundation to help assist young men in the Metro Detroit area.

Detroit HBCU Network

We are pleased to announce an additional charity partner for the 2019 Detroit Kentucky Derby. Learn more about the Detroit HBCU Network at www.detroithbcu.org.


Founded in January 2006, the Detroit HBCU Network (a 501c3 organization) continues to carry on the spirit of Historically Black Colleges and Universities by representing various HBCU's in the Detroit Metro area. The DHN is made up of alumni chapters, individual representatives and current students of Historically Black Colleges and Universities.  


A portion of the proceeds of the Detroit Kentucky Derby ticket sales will go to the general scholarship fund for deserving HBCU students from the Metro Detroit area.

2017 Charity Partner - Karmanos Cancer Inst.

Our charity partner for the 2017 Detroit Kentucky Derby Day Party was the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.
